Czech Republic
Colorful town squares, a rolling green countryside, and a medieval fairytale type feel.
The Czech Republic is one of Europe’s most underrated destinations. Like most other travelers, my first trip was to the stunning capital city – Prague. While it was undoubtedly beautiful, it felt a bit too touristy for my liking. It wasn’t until my later travels that I found a country that was both fascinating and phenomenal. A land full of wondrous sites.
You’ll find UNESCO protected gardens, magnificent hilltop castles, and prehistoric areas that spotlight the history of “mammoth hunters.” Discover abandoned bunkers hiding deep in the forest and explore a time tested maze of underground tunnels.
You can spend your days relaxing in popular spa towns or touring world renowned wineries and breweries. There are a variety of things to do that I just never expected after my first visit. It’s overshadowed by its neighbors in the west, which makes it a perfect place for the enthusiastic globetrotter.
With a cuisine that I’m slowly learning to adore and a culture that embraces the outdoors, the Czech Republic has grown on me immensely.
